to collect information, arrange talks, discussions and other activities, and to disseminate and enhance knowledge relating to food hygiene, standards, supply and demand, and other related subjects of interest to the food trade and industry. 协调本港食品业、研究及调查与食品有关之一切问题, 搜集资料、安排研讨会及各类活动，藉此宣传与食品卫生、标准、供求情况及其他关乎食品业之资料，以促进同业对有关问题之认识。
