nslookup — DNS lookup tool
Look up DNS records, WHOIS, email authentication (SPF/DMARC/DKIM), global propagation, reverse PTR, DNSBL and TLS status. Queries go straight over DNS-over-HTTPS; we do not log what you type.
example.com) to see A/AAAA/MX/NS/TXT/SOA/CAA/SRV/DS/DNSKEY/TLSA records with TTL and DNSSEC status. Use WHOIS for registration data, Email auth for SPF/DMARC/DKIM, and Propagation to check whether a change has gone global.
FAQ (nslookup and DNS)
What is nslookup?
nslookup is a tool for querying DNS (Domain Name System) records. Given a domain, it shows the IP addresses (A/AAAA), mail servers (MX), name servers (NS) and text records (TXT) behind it, which is how you diagnose website, email and domain configuration problems.
How do I look up DNS records with nslookup?
Enter a domain such as example.com on ns.timway.com. The tool queries A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, NS, TXT, SOA, CAA, SRV, DS, DNSKEY and TLSA in one pass and shows TTL, query time and DNSSEC status.
Why do different resolvers return different results?
DNS answers are cached for their TTL. After you change a record, each resolver (Cloudflare, Google, DNSPod and so on) refreshes on its own schedule, so you may see the old value for a while. Use the Propagation tab to compare resolvers live and decide whether the change has gone global.
How do I check SPF, DMARC and DKIM?
Open the Email auth tab. The tool reads the MX records, the SPF policy (TXT v=spf1) and the DMARC policy at _dmarc, then tests the common DKIM selectorss (default, google, selector1, …) and counts SPF DNS lookups against the limit of 10.
Is this nslookup tool free, and do you log my queries?
It is free and needs no account. Queries go directly to public resolvers over DNS-over-HTTPS. The server keeps a five-minute technical cache only; there is no query log and your input is not used for anything else.
